Amid a political stalemate within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), tension over seat-sharing gripped the coalition as assembly elections in Maharashtra approached. The Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) engaged in talks with NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar, attempting to resolve differences over candidate nominations.

Sources suggest an agreement might be reached shortly, tackling disputes over 10 to 12 contentious seats. Both the Congress state chief Nana Patole and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut have been vocal, resulting in Uddhav Thackeray urging calm to prevent further discord.

In parallel, the BJP unveiled its candidate lineup, sparking criticism from opponents citing dynastic politics. With notable figures like Sreejaya Chavan and Nitesh Rane among nominees, the BJP faces scrutiny for alleged familial favoritism in candidate selection.
