In a scathing political commentary, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took aim at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, alleging he bears 'no brand value' within the INDIA bloc. Sarma asserted that Yadav's persistent attempts to secure a favorable seat-sharing arrangement in the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections had fallen flat, even after multiple visits to Chief Minister Hemant Soren's residence.

Sarma, who also serves as the BJP's election co-in-charge for Jharkhand, criticized the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) for ostensibly lacking viable candidates, a statement that comes after several BJP leaders transitioned to the JMM camp. Among them were ex-MLAs Lois Marandi, Kunal Sarangi, and others, in a move indicating potential strategic shifts ahead of the polls.

The assembly elections are set to occur in two phases on November 13 and 20, with counting on November 23. Currently, the political atmosphere is charged, with parties like the RJD expressing dissatisfaction over unilateral seat allocation decisions made by JMM and Congress, further complicating alliances within the INDIA bloc.
