Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy took a jab at the Congress government in Karnataka, criticizing its handling of the persistent rain situation over the past few days. He remarked that Bengaluru now more closely resembles Venice rather than the promised transformation into Singapore.

As torrential rains continued to lash the country's IT hub, Kumaraswamy pointed out that many residents have had to relocate to hotels amid waterlogged streets where boats have become a common sight. He expressed disapproval of the government's inaction, noting that no minister, including Chief Minister Siddramaiah, had addressed the substantial crop loss experienced throughout Karnataka.

The opposition BJP echoed the critique, targeting the administration for the city's potholes. The BJP's Karnataka unit demanded immediate attention from Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar, stating that residents are frustrated with the governing Congress for failing to address these pressing issues.
