Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to make her electoral debut in the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll by filing her nomination on October 23. The Congress party has decided against imposing any restrictions on the use of party flags or those of its allies, marking a significant shift from previous campaign strategy.
This decision comes in the wake of criticisms faced earlier this year during Rahul Gandhi's roadshow in Wayanad, where the absence of Congress flags led to allegations from CPI(M) of the party being intimidated by the BJP. However, for Priyanka's upcoming campaign, the nearly two-kilometer roadshow will see no such limitations.
Key opposition candidates include LDF's Sathyan Mokeri, known for his work in agriculture, and BJP's Navya Haridas. Rahul Gandhi expressed support for his sister, highlighting her as an ideal representative for Wayanad. The by-election was necessitated after Rahul Gandhi decided to vacate the Wayanad seat.
