In a bid to resolve seat-sharing disagreements within the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat met with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar on Tuesday. Thorat's efforts highlight ongoing negotiations with coalition partners, including the Shiv Sena (UBT).
Thorat addressed the media, emphasizing that there is no internal conflict within the MVA, stating that discussions for the remaining assembly seats are actively taking place. The Congress Legislative Party leader plans to meet Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray as part of these efforts.
With Maharashtra's assembly elections approaching, tensions have emerged during talks between the principal opposition parties—Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP)—over seat allocations. The elections are scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23, as the current assembly's term ends on November 26.
