Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are running nearly parallel in seven key battleground states as the U.S. presidential election approaches, according to a new Washington Post/Schar School poll released on Monday.
The findings reveal Harris leading in Georgia at 51% to Trump's 47%, while Trump enjoys a slight lead in Arizona with 49% over Harris's 46%. These numbers, however, fall within the margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points, indicating a very tight race.
The poll, which surveyed 5,016 likely voters between September 30 and October 15, highlights the closeness of the race, especially in pivotal states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, where Harris plans to focus her campaign efforts. Trump, running for the third time, remains defiant amid ongoing legal troubles while both candidates vie for the critical support needed in these swing states.
