In the buildup to Jharkhand’s assembly elections, Minister Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, along with other party nominees, submitted nominations on Monday as Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidates. Thakur will compete from Garhwa, while Sanjib Sardar, Mangal Kalindi, and Anant Pratap Deo represent Potka, Jugsalai, and Bhawnathpur respectively.

The elections, covering 81 seats, are scheduled in two phases on November 13 and 20, with the vote count slated for November 23. Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the INDIA bloc's unified front, with both JMM and Congress planning to field candidates in 70 seats.

Confident of his victory, Minister Thakur underscored his contributions in Garhwa, highlighting developments in infrastructure and public services. Having won the 2019 elections against a BJP contender, Thakur assures to tackle job migration and aims to bolster health services with plans for a super-specialty hospital.
