In the wake of last week's attack on its consulate in Mandalay, China has strongly condemned the incident, demanding that Myanmar authorities take immediate action to apprehend those responsible, according to a foreign ministry spokesperson on Monday.
The explosion, which took place at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, caused damage to the consulate premises but fortunately resulted in no casualties, spokesperson Lin Jian announced during a regular briefing. China has made 'serious representations' to Myanmar officials, insisting on a comprehensive investigation and the harsh punishment of the attackers, Lin added.
In response to the incident, the Chinese consulate has issued a warning to all Chinese nationals, businesses, and groups within Myanmar, urging them to remain vigilant and to implement necessary security precautions.
