Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Sunday offered her condolences for the victims of a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal. The deadly strike, which took the lives of a doctor and six laborers, occurred at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway.
The perpetrators, unidentified terrorists, launched their assault on the workers, comprising both local and non-local laborers, as they returned to their camp late in the evening. Local officials revealed that the terrorists, believed to be at least two in number, unleashed indiscriminate gunfire on the unsuspecting group.
In a heartfelt message posted on social media platform X, Priyanka Gandhi unequivocally condemned the act, labeling the attack as cowardly. She described the targeting of innocent civilians and the sowing of violence and terror among the public as crimes against humanity. Extending her deepest condolences to the bereaved families, Gandhi also expressed hopes for the speedy recovery of the injured.
