The AJSU Party, an ally of the National Democratic Alliance in Jharkhand, released its initial list of eight candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections. Leading the charge is Sudesh Kumar Mahto, nominated from the Silli constituency.
Under the seat-sharing agreement, the AJSU Party will vie for 10 seats, while allies JD(U) and LJP (Ram Vilas) will contest two and one seat respectively. The BJP will field candidates in the remaining 68 constituencies.
In 2019, the JMM-led alliance secured a majority with 47 seats, unseating the BJP, which held 25. As part of the upcoming elections on November 13 and 20, the AJSU Party aims to increase its representation, having previously won two seats.
