Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma voiced optimism about the National Democratic Alliance's potential to form the next government in Jharkhand during a recent press interaction. As a key figure within the Bharatiya Janata Party's election efforts, Sarma extended his best wishes to all party candidates contesting the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
Although Sarma acknowledged that the BJP might not secure an outright majority, he indicated that the public sentiment in Jharkhand appears favorable towards the BJP and NDA. The elections are scheduled in two phases on November 13 and 20, with results slated for November 23.
The BJP aims to dethrone the current JMM-led government by aligning with the AJSU Party, JD(U), and LJP. The alliance's preliminary seat-sharing arrangement includes the BJP competing in 68 constituencies, AJSU in 10, JD(U) in 2, and LJP in 1, awaiting a final confirmation.
