The Aam Aadmi Party has unveiled its candidates for the four assembly seats in Punjab that are set for by-polls on November 13. Gurdeep Singh Randhawa will contest the Dera Baba Nanak seat, while Ishaan Chabbewal, Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, and Harinder Singh Dhaliwal have been chosen for Chabbewal, Gidderbaha, and Barnala, respectively.

This announcement comes amid concerns voiced by Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa, who has requested the Election Commission to postpone the by-polls as they coincide with the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Bajwa emphasized the need to allow citizens to observe their religious commitments without affecting their democratic participation.

The Chief Election Commissioner, Rajiv Kumar, declared the schedules for the upcoming by-polls at a press conference, noting elections for 47 assembly seats and the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat happening on November 13. The polls will be conducted across 15 states, with results expected on November 23.
