AAP leader Satyendar Jain has been released from Tihar Jail after spending 18 months behind bars, asserting that accusations of him receiving massages were false. According to Jain, the supposed 'massages' were actually prescribed physiotherapy sessions for severe leg pain.
The controversy ignited in November 2022 when CCTV footage from the prison allegedly showed Jain being given massages, but the AAP leader clarified that he was fully clothed during the treatment. Jain, previously the Delhi prisons department minister, claims the footage was exaggerated.
Jain's release comes after being granted bail by a Delhi court in a money laundering case. Criticizing the BJP, he alleged his jail treatment was politicized, questioning the selective release of footage during the Gujarat elections. BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor dismissed Jain's claims, challenging his failure to address grievances while incarcerated.
