Union Minister L Murugan criticized the ruling DMK for directing blame towards Governor R N Ravi concerning the state anthem mishap and asserted the governor's non-culpability. According to the Minister, the state government is using the incident to shift public focus from the inundation challenges faced on October 15.
Murugan questioned the justification for holding the Governor accountable for the anthem lapse, arguing it could have happened to anyone, even himself. The incident occurred during an event at the Doordarshan Tamil office, where a line was accidentally skipped in the Tamil Thai Valthu recitation.
Highlighting political manipulation, Murugan accused the DMK of misinforming the public regarding language issues and emphasized the need for the government to prioritize development efforts, such as shutting Tasmac outlets and addressing flooding in Chennai.
