The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to release its first list of candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated on Saturday that issues surrounding half of the contentious seats have been resolved.
Key leaders, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his deputies Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, held a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Friday evening to address seat-sharing disagreements among the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP allies.
Fadnavis noted at the Nagpur airport that the seat-sharing discussion is in its final stages. He added, 'Mahayuti partners may opt to declare candidates independently.' The alliance aims to maintain its hold in the 288-member assembly, challenged by the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition.
