In a crucial political move, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has revealed its candidates for six of the seven pivotal assembly bypolls to be held in Rajasthan. With polling set for November 13 and results due by November 23, the BJP has fielded Jagmohan Meena from Dausa, Rajendra Bhambhu from Jhunjhunu, Sukhwant Singh from Ramgarh, Rajendra Gurjar from Deoli-Ujiara, Revant Ram Danga from Khinvsar, and Shanta Devi Meena from Salumbar. However, the party is yet to finalize a candidate for the Chorasi seat.
These bypolls have been necessitated due to various reasons, including the deaths of sitting MLAs and others being elected to the Lok Sabha. Of the seven seats, four were held by Congress, while one each was previously with the BJP, Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP), and the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP).
The current composition of the 200-member Rajasthan state assembly includes 114 BJP MLAs, 65 Congress members, along with representation from BAP and other parties. The outcomes of these bypolls could significantly influence the political dynamics within the state assembly.
