Amid swirling controversy, former Delhi prisons department minister and AAP leader Satyendar Jain has defended himself against accusations surrounding a purported 'massage' in Tihar jail. Jain stated that the footage, which emerged in November 2022, depicting him receiving a massage, was misleadingly exaggerated. He clarified that he was undergoing physiotherapy for debilitating leg pain.

Jain, who was granted bail on Saturday after 18 months in custody connected to a money laundering charge, expressed concerns over selective video releases, questioning why no other jail footage was publicized. He challenged allegations of living luxuriously in prison, asserting his purchases of basic fruits and vegetables, and bottled water, which he claimed were misconstrued.

The accusations have been labeled politically motivated, with Jain accusing the BJP of strategically releasing the footage during the Gujarat elections. Despite enduring harsh imprisonment conditions, including isolation, Jain was seen at a party meeting after his release, joined by AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and other colleagues.
