The Indian National Congress has expressed significant concerns over the outcome of the state elections in Haryana, where the Bharatiya Janata Party, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emerged victorious. The Congress, which was anticipated to perform well according to exit polls, challenges the results.

Senior Congress officials have met with the Election Commission of India (ECI), highlighting complaints from 20 constituencies. They have submitted written grievances from seven and plan further submissions. The ECI countered that Congress's rejection undermines free speech norms in India's democracy.

BJP spokesperson Anil Baluni downplayed the vote-counting issues, attributing Congress's loss to a disconnect with the public. This electoral result marks a significant test of Modi's popularity as he prepares for upcoming regional elections in key Indian states.
