BJP's Hat-trick Victory in Haryana Assembly Elections

The BJP has achieved a hat-trick of wins in Haryana, securing 48 seats in the recent assembly elections. This surpasses their 2014 results, despite anti-incumbency. BJP's strategic push in 2014 and alliances helped maintain power against the Congress, further strengthening their grip in the state politics.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made significant strides in Haryana, achieving a third consecutive victory in the assembly elections. The party secured 48 seats, surpassing even its 2014 performance when it rose to power independently for the first time. The recent elections saw BJP defy anti-incumbency and halt Congress' comeback attempt.

The BJP contested 89 out of the 90 seats in Haryana, choosing not to field a candidate in Sirsa, where ally Gopal Kanda held a seat. However, Kanda was unsuccessful in retaining his position. Overall, the BJP's strategic moves and alliances have kept it ahead, while Congress managed to win 37 seats.

Prior to this, the BJP effectively shifted from being a minor competitor, often allied with parties like INLD and the Haryana Vikas Party. This change began in 2014, guided by broader national success and strategic electoral campaigns. Chief Minister Saini expressed gratitude to voters, attributing the victory to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
