The Election Commission has firmly rejected allegations from the Congress party of a slowdown in the updating of Haryana assembly election results. Describing the claims as 'ill-founded', the EC stated the entire counting process was conducted transparently under legal regulations.
The ruling BJP is poised to form its third consecutive government in Haryana after winning 48 seats in the 90-member assembly. Congress, which is set to win 37 seats, expressed grievances about delayed updates on the EC's website. The poll panel asserted no delays were evident in result postings, dismissing Congress's narratives as baseless.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh alleged mind games were being played, hinting at pressure from BJP governments on local administrations. The EC responded by reiterating the adherence to statutory regulations and maintaining the integrity of the counting process. Despite the dismissal, Congress leaders continued to question the election outcome integrity.
