In a statement on Friday, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu dismissed claims of imposing a 'toilet tax' in the state, accusing BJP leaders of politicizing the matter.

The accusation came from BJP national president J P Nadda, who at an event in Bilaspur alleged that Sukhu's government lacks the competence and ethics to govern, citing the supposed 'toilet tax' as evidence.

Sukhu argued that the BJP is leveraging this issue for political advantage ahead of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha elections, while also recalling water subsidies and sewerage charges adjustments made by his administration.
