A development survey along the Musi riverfront has ignited a political battle between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS in Telangana.

K T Rama Rao, working president of the BRS, has accused the state government of orchestrating 'the biggest scam in the country' under the guise of the Musi River Project. He claims that the Congress party is using the project as a financial reserve for elections, alleging that Rs 25,000 crore out of the Rs 1.5 lakh crore project cost was intended for 'Delhi Congress'.

In response, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy dismissed Rama Rao's claims, stating that the project is still in its planning stages and no detailed project report or loans have been prepared. Reddy also criticized Rao's conduct and questioned his effectiveness as a minister during the previous regime.

Rama Rao pointed out the inflated budget allocation for the Musi project compared to the Namami Gange project and called the expenditure a potential scam. He further accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of tyranny, ignoring the cries for justice from the affected families of the Musi River.
