A brick was allegedly thrown into the rear windshield of an SUV, part of Jannayak Janta Party leader Dushyant Chautala's cavalcade, during his campaign in Uchana Kalan, police reported on Tuesday.
The vehicle was stationary at a roadshow halt, and no one was inside when the incident occurred Monday evening, police stated. The Joint Haryana polls on October 5 involve JJP, led by former MP Ajay Singh Chautala, and the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) led by Chandra Shekhar Azad, who was also campaigning in Uchana.
Uchana Police Station SHO Pawan Kumar confirmed a scratch mark on the vehicle and its rear windshield broken. He revealed a 74-year-old local and Chautala had a confrontation during the campaign. Police have registered a case and plan to interrogate the senior citizen named in the complaint.
