BJP candidate Praveen Kumar claimed victory in the Bir-Bagehra ward of Sujanpur block in Hamirpur district on Monday.

The election, held on Sunday, saw Kumar defeat Pyar Chand of the Congress party by a narrow margin of 41 votes. The seat had been vacated by Congress leader Ranjit Singh Rana following his recent election to MLA from Sujanpur in a bye-election, where he defeated Rajendra Rana.

The BJP expressed gratitude towards the voters of Bir-Bagehra ward, suggesting the result indicates their diminishing faith in the Congress party.

Former Union Minister and current MP from Hamirpur Parliamentary Constituency, Anurag Singh Thakur, congratulated Kumar on his win. He stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party continues to register historic victories under the slogan 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas'.
