In a scathing critique, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh has condemned the Maharashtra government for its implementation of the Ladki Bahin Yojana scheme. Ramesh, citing Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, stated that the scheme could delay subsidies for other initiatives.
'This scheme, introduced after Mahayuti's defeats in the Lok Sabha elections, is a political maneuver without financial foresight,' Ramesh stated. He highlighted Maharashtra's fiscal problems, mentioning a halted fund for bereaved farmers' families and unpaid PWD contractors.
Ramesh emphasized Maharashtra's significant fiscal deficit and debt, criticizing the government's financial mismanagement. Contrastingly, he pointed out stronger growth in other states. He accused the Mahayuti government of lacking legitimacy and efficient governance, projecting a defeat and economic revival under a new administration.
