Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi pledged to restore the Old Pension Scheme in Haryana during a rally in Ambala on Monday, ahead of the upcoming assembly polls.
Gandhi promised financial support for social security with Rs 6000 monthly for widows, elderly, and disabled people, guaranteed MSP for farmers, and Rs 2000 for women under the Mahila Shakti Yojana. Additionally, he vowed to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 500.
Criticizing the ruling BJP government, Gandhi labelled it as 'Adani's government' and called for a regime focused on farmers and the poor. He emphasized the ideological battle between justice, represented by Congress, and injustice, associated with the BJP. Congress MP Kumari Shelja expressed confidence in Congress's victory in the upcoming elections, which are set for October 5 with counting on October 8.
