Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is intensifying his campaign efforts with a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, scheduled for Sunday. This marks his fourth visit to the state in the past month, reflecting its crucial role in the 2024 election.

The former president will speak in Erie, a significant location in the northwest corner of Pennsylvania, at 2 p.m. local time (1800 GMT). His rally follows a month after his running mate, U.S. Senator JD Vance, conducted his own event in the city. Just six days later, Trump is set to hold another rally in Butler, western Pennsylvania, on Oct. 5.

Allies and informal advisers to Trump believe Pennsylvania is instrumental in determining the Nov. 5 election outcome. The state is one of seven competitive regions where both Trump and his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, stand a realistic chance of winning. With Pennsylvania awarding the most Electoral College votes among these states, a win here could be decisive for either candidate. Erie County, where the rally will take place, has historically shown divided support, backing Trump in 2016 and President Biden in 2020.
