Supriya Sule, working president of NCP (SP), recently opened up about the emotional strife she faced during the Baramati Lok Sabha elections, where she ran against her cousin Ajit Pawar's wife. Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Sule refuted claims that the split in NCP was due to her father Sharad Pawar selecting her as his political heir.

She emphasized that the family's bond extends beyond power and money, and noted that 98% of her family members supported her through the difficult time. Sule, who has consistently won the Baramati seat, stressed the importance of relationships and downplayed the significance of political power.

Sule also mentioned Ajit Pawar's acknowledgment of his mistake in pitting his wife against her. She asserted that the legacy of their party and her father could pass to anyone deserving, and expressed willingness to debate critics, even Ajit Pawar, over their political differences.
