Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he plans to implement a 100% tariff on all cars entering the United States from Mexico if he wins the November 5 election against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
Speaking during a campaign event in Georgia, Trump stated, "We will put a 100% tariff on every single car coming across the Mexican border." He added that the only way for car manufacturers to avoid the tariff is by setting up production facilities within the United States.
The former president emphasized job creation for American workers as a key benefit of this policy, aiming to bolster the domestic economy.
