Vice President Kamala Harris' transition team has secured an agreement with the General Services Administration (GSA) to receive pre-election support from the federal government, a crucial step in preparing for her potential presidency.
The GSA, mandated by law to provide resources such as office space and technology support to major party nominees, posted the signed memorandum on its website on Monday. This document, dated Sept. 19, outlines policies on IT, record-keeping, and ethics.
As preparations intensify for the January 20, 2025, presidential handoff, Harris and Trump representatives have been included in high-level transition meetings. Federal agencies are gearing up with detailed briefing memos, while teams of federal agents are ready to vet hundreds of potential staff and appointees. The Trump campaign has not yet commented on reaching a similar agreement.
