In a move that has caused considerable stir, Kerala MLA P V Anvar has updated his Facebook profile photo, removing a picture with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and replacing it with one featuring him with common people. This action comes after Anvar faced criticism from the ruling CPI(M) for his public allegations against the Chief Minister's close confidantes.
Anvar, the Nilambur MLA, recently announced a temporary halt to his public statements, also emphasizing his persistent complaints against ADGP M R Ajithkumar and political secretary P Sasi. Despite this pause, Anvar made clear his allegiance to the party by posting about the martyrdom day of veteran CPI (M) leader Azhikodan Raghavan and expressing 'martyrs zindabad'.
Senior CPI (M) leader P K Sreemathi criticized Anvar, asserting that no member or sympathizer should allow the party to be targeted by its adversaries. In a Facebook post, Anvar expressed trust in the party's assurance to address his concerns. During recent press conferences, Anvar had made serious allegations against Ajithkumar and Sasi, prompting displeasure from CM Vijayan, who stated that Anvar should have approached the party or him directly before going public.
