Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday opted for a road journey from Garhwa, Jharkhand to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, after his helicopter was unable to refuel. This decision came after the fuel transport vehicle faced issues.

'He left for UP by road from Garhwa as his chopper could not be refuelled,' Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta told PTI.

Garhwa SP Deepak Pandey confirmed that Singh's decision was made after the fuel vehicle from Ranchi failed to arrive, and the Defence Minister waited for about an hour before departing. Earlier, Singh addressed rallies in Itkhori, Chatra, and Banshidhar Nagar, Garhwa.
