In a significant political development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi on Saturday at Raj Niwas. Atishi, who is the third woman to hold the position, succeeds Arvind Kejriwal following his resignation. The oath-taking ceremony also saw other prominent AAP leaders like Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Imran Hussain, and Mukesh Ahlawat being inducted into the Atishi-led Delhi cabinet.

Addressing the media, Atishi shared her mixed feelings about the transition. "I am honored by the trust Arvind Kejriwal has placed in me, but also saddened by his resignation. My aim is to work tirelessly to bring him back as Chief Minister after the upcoming assembly elections," she remarked. She credited Kejriwal for her ascension, stating, "This opportunity could only happen in AAP, under Kejriwal's leadership, where an ordinary person like me can rise to such heights."

Among the newly inducted ministers, AAP MLA Mukesh Ahlawat emphasized the significance of leadership from Kejriwal and Baba Saheb in empowering people from Dalit and backward communities. Kailash Gahlot, another AAP leader, vowed to continue working for Delhi's citizens, reiterating the party's commitment to its core values. Atishi, who represents the Kalkaji constituency, holds the most portfolios in the Delhi government and is set to lead AAP into the forthcoming assembly elections. The ceremony at Raj Niwas was also attended by her parents, Tripta Wahi and Vijay Singh.
