Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday extended an invitation to senior Congress leader Sushil Shinde to visit Kashmir with his family, emphasizing that the BJP government has eliminated terrorism from the region.
Shah referenced Shinde's recent comments about his fear of visiting Srinagar's Lal Chowk during his tenure as home minister, assuring him that the current situation in Kashmir is safe.
Speaking at an election rally in Ramban district, Shah asserted that the BJP's efforts have transformed Kashmir, enabling peaceful celebrations and drawing distinctions between the incumbent and previous governments.
