Arvind Kejriwal, the convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), spearheaded one-on-one discussions with party leaders on Monday during a Political Affairs Committee meeting, focusing on identifying his successor as Delhi's Chief Minister.
AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj confirmed that the gathering took place at Kejriwal's official residence. 'He (Kejriwal) sought individual feedback on potential candidates. Tomorrow, the legislative party meeting will proceed to the second phase of discussions,' Bharadwaj informed reporters post-meeting.
Having announced his intention to relinquish his role as Chief Minister, Kejriwal is orchestrating a seamless transition by consulting party members and legislative representatives. Kejriwal, who was recently released on bail in the excise policy case, reiterated his call for early polls, emphasizing he would only reclaim the office upon receiving a 'certificate of honesty' from the people.
