In a scathing critique, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad questioned the timing of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's resignation, suggesting that the AAP leader is compromising on the anti-corruption stance that initially propelled him into power.

Comparing Kejriwal to previous resigning leaders such as Lalu Prasad Yadav and Hemant Soren, Prasad asked why Kejriwal needed two days to step down and posited that he might be afraid of losing his position. He stated, 'The person who led a movement against major corruption is now making such a compromise. Today, the people of India are bowing their heads in shame.'

Kejriwal, who announced his resignation two days after his release from Tihar Jail, said he would not return to the Chief Minister's office until he is deemed 'honest' by the public. AAP leader Atishi defended the delay, citing the Eid-e-Milad holiday as the reason for the two-day gap.
