Haryana Congress chief Udai Bhan expressed confidence that his party will win more than 70 seats in the upcoming assembly elections. During an interview with ANI on Saturday, Bhan highlighted the growing public support for Congress. 'In 2005, the Congress party achieved 67 seats, and now we are witnessing even greater support. We believe Congress will win over 70 seats and form the government,' he stated.
This optimistic proclamation follows a series of attacks from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In rallies held in Doda and Kurukshetra, Modi criticized Congress for various policies. He cited an incident in Karnataka, where a Ganesha idol was temporarily kept in a police van, as an example of Congress's alleged religious appeasement.
'Congress's main agenda is appeasement,' Modi charged. 'In Karnataka, under Congress rule, Lord Ganesha is behind bars while the whole country celebrates Ganeshotsav. Additionally, Congress's 'royal family' wants to eliminate reservations for Dalits and other marginalized groups,' he added. Modi further alleged that Congress leaders, including Nehru and Indira Gandhi, historically opposed reservations. Voters in Haryana will cast their ballots on October 5, with results expected on October 8, as per ANI.
