The US State Department has implemented new sanctions on Russian state media outlet RT. Officials accuse RT of collaborating with the Russian military and running campaigns to fund equipment for soldiers in Ukraine.
While RT has faced sanctions before for spreading Kremlin propaganda, Secretary of State Antony Blinken revealed that the outlet's involvement in Russia's war efforts is much deeper.
RT has created deceptive websites to disseminate propaganda globally and expanded its cyber operations with connections to Russian intelligence, according to the State Department.
