Aam Aadmi Party's Haryana chief, Sushil Gupta, strongly criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday following the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on bail from Tihar Jail. Gupta condemned BJP's actions, saying they should feel 'ashamed' for incarcerating Kejriwal on what he termed a 'false case'.

'This is a significant slap on the face of the BJP. They should be ashamed of placing Arvind Kejriwal in jail over a false case,' Gupta remarked. 'I congratulate everyone—there is great excitement in Haryana. Arvind Kejriwal will come to Haryana, and we will form the government here,' Gupta added. Meanwhile, AAP leader Jasmine Shah applauded the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to Kejriwal in the Delhi excise policy case.

'Today, Aam Aadmi Party leaders and supporters welcome CM Arvind Kejriwal. The Supreme Court's decision today tells the citizens that no government is above the Constitution,' Shah stated. Shah also accused CBI of acting like a 'parrot' for the government and questioned BJP for not initiating the trial.

'The Supreme Court has highlighted that the CBI was operating like a government's parrot,' Shah alleged. 'Questions should be asked of the BJP today. For the last two years, you've claimed a massive scam occurred, so why haven't you started the trial?' he added. Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on Friday evening, hours after the Supreme Court granted him bail.

Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case linked to the now-repealed Delhi Excise Policy. On May 10, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail until June 1 but prohibited him from visiting the Office of the Chief Minister or the Delhi Secretariat. He surrendered in compliance on June 2.

On June 26, while still in ED custody, Kejriwal was arrested by CBI in the excise case. The Supreme Court granted him interim bail on July 12 in the ED case, but Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court extended his CBI custody. (ANI)
