Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and INDIA bloc ally Tejashwi Yadav on Friday congratulated the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Arvind Kejriwal's family after the Supreme Court granted bail to the Delhi Chief Minister. Yadav also criticized government agencies for targeting opposition leaders.

"I congratulate the people of the Aam Aadmi Party and the family of Arvind Kejriwal. It is good that he has been granted bail, but if we look at the Supreme Court's comments, it is clear that government agencies are being exposed. The way opposition leaders are being targeted and the reprimand from the Supreme Court is significant," Yadav said. He further called for an impartial investigation into the Delhi Excise Policy case, in which Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 and by the CBI on June 26.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat pointed out that the Supreme Court upheld the grounds of the case. She emphasized the conditions of Kejriwal's release and expressed confidence that the Delhi CM would return to jail. "The Supreme Court granted him bail while stating that the grounds of the case were correct. He can step out of jail, but he can't go to the CM Secretariat, sign files, make public statements about the case, or travel abroad. So, once the case is heard again, he will have to return to jail. Now the big question is whether he will become an ex-CM or continue as CM forcibly," Sehrawat said.

AAP leader Jasmine Shah said, "The Supreme Court's decision today sends a message to the people of this country that no government is above the Constitution. The Supreme Court has made it clear that the CBI was acting like a government parrot. Questions should now be directed at the BJP--after two years of claiming a major scam, why has the trial not started?" Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, in connection with a money laundering probe related to alleged irregularities in the now-cancelled Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22. On June 26, 2024, Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI while in the custody of the ED for the excise case. (ANI)
