In a significant political shift, Haryana BJP leader and former minister Karan Dev Kamboj has joined the Congress. He resigned from his post as the state unit's OBC Morcha chief after being denied a ticket for the upcoming assembly polls.
Kamboj was seeking a candidacy either from Radaur or Indri seats but switched sides after his expectations were not met. The formal induction took place in the presence of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and State Congress chief Udai Bhan.
Kamboj criticized the BJP for favoring new entrants and turncoats while ignoring long-time workers. Haryana will go to polls on October 5, with vote counting scheduled for October 8.
