Indian political leaders from Andhra Pradesh, including Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, expressed their sorrow over the demise of CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury.
Yechury, who passed away at the age of 72 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, was lauded for his extensive contributions to Indian politics. The Chief Minister highlighted Yechury's intellectual approach to political issues and his ability to connect with people at the grassroots level.
Deputy CM Kalyan emphasized Yechury's pivotal role in numerous national-level public movements, while Assembly Speaker C Ayyannapatrudu called his passing an irreparable loss to Indian politics. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also paid tribute, remembering Yechury as a respected Parliamentarian and a great leader.
