Yechury, 72, passed away at AIIMS following a prolonged illness. He was in a critical condition for several days and on respiratory support. The CPI(M) lamented the loss of the veteran leader, describing him as an outstanding Marxist ideologue.
Tributes poured in from political colleagues, acknowledging his longstanding contributions to the Left movement. CPI General Secretary D Raja reminisced about decades of collaboration, while the All India Forward Bloc hailed his crucial role in today's leftist political sphere.
