Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday expressed deep shock and sorrow over the passing away of CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, Reddy described the demise of the senior Left party leader as an irreparable loss to Indian politics.
Reddy took to social media platform 'X' to convey his grief, stating, ''Deeply saddened by the demise of veteran leader, former Rajya Sabha MP shri #SitaramYechury Ji. He relentlessly fought to uphold democratic traditions. The void left by him would always remain unfilled.''
The chief minister also extended his condolences to the bereaved family members.
Reddy reminisced about how Yechury entered politics during his student days and remained active on the national stage for over four decades. Yechury's death occurred at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi at the age of 72 after a prolonged illness.
