Jakhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday conveyed his condolences on the passing of CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, highlighting the profound loss Yechury's death represents for Indian politics.
Yechury, 72, died following a prolonged illness at AIIMS in New Delhi. Soren, in a post on X, described Yechury as a skilled politician and thinker dedicated to the interests of the people.
Expressing his grief, CPI(ML) Liberation general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya also noted that Yechury's death is a significant loss to the communist movement in India, and praised his efforts in promoting communist unity and opposing the BJP.
