Zelenskiy Slams Chinese-Brazilian Peace Initiative as 'Destructive'

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has dismissed a Chinese-Brazilian peace initiative aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine, calling it 'destructive' and a mere political statement. He expressed discontent with the exclusion of Kyiv from the discussion process.

Both China and Brazil proposed an international peace conference involving Russia and Ukraine with equal participation of all concerned parties. However, Zelenskiy criticized the initiative for lacking respect for Ukraine and its territorial integrity, emphasizing that any effective peace plan must include input from Ukraine.

Despite making offers to discuss the proposals with China and Brazil, Zelenskiy noted the proposal favored Russia. He reiterated that a genuine peace plan should include the withdrawal of Russian troops and respect for Ukraine's post-Soviet borders. Zelenskiy also pointed out Brazil's government displayed a more pro-Russian stance, questioning its reliability as a mediator.
