In a significant move ahead of the Haryana assembly polls, the Congress on Thursday released two new lists, adding seven candidates to its roster. Notable inclusions are former MLA Naresh Selwal for the Uklana reserve seat and journalist Sarva Mitra Kamboj for Rania.
These additions bring the party's total to 88 candidates out of 90 assembly seats. The nominations were released just hours before the deadline for filing nominations. Earlier, the Congress had declared its third list, featuring Aditya Surjewala and others.
Despite ongoing seat-sharing talks with AAP that have reached a deadlock, the Congress continues to expand its slate of candidates. Haryana's assembly elections are scheduled for October 5, with vote counting on October 8.
