Congress Declares Third List of Candidates for Haryana Assembly Polls

The Congress party on Wednesday unveiled its third list of 40 candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections, including Aditya Surjewala from Kaithal, son of party MP Randeep Surjewala.

With this release, the Congress has now fielded 81 candidates for the 90-member assembly, leaving nine seats yet to be declared amidst speculation of a potential tie-up with AAP and other smaller outfits. The deadline for filing nominations is Thursday.

Among the notable candidates in the third list are Chander Mohan from Panchkula, Nirmal Singh from Ambala City, Akram Khan from Jagadhri, and Balwan Singh Daulatpuri from Fatehabad. The party's previous lists included prominent figures such as former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and state unit chief Udai Bhan. Assembly elections will take place on October 5, with vote counting on October 8.
