Kharge Criticizes BJP, Alleging Minority Government and Emergency Mindset

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the BJP, suggesting that party leaders would have faced jail time had the opposition INDIA bloc secured 20 more seats in the Lok Sabha elections. He criticized the Centre on various issues while speaking at a rally in Anantnag.
In a rebuttal, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused Kharge of demonstrating an 'Emergency mindset,' referencing the Emergency period imposed by Indira Gandhi. Poonawalla argued that Congress continues to harbor an authoritarian legacy.
Kharge urged voters in Jammu and Kashmir to elect a strong government, stating the BJP's minority status made it reliant on alliances. He alleged that PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were making false promises and criticized Modi for misusing foreign visits to undermine Congress.
