Kremlin Critiques U.S. Debate: Putin's Name on the Line
The Kremlin disapproved of Vladimir Putin's name being frequently mentioned during the U.S. presidential debate. Presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov urged American candidates to stop using Putin as a tool in their political conflicts. The remarks followed Putin's comment favoring Kamala Harris, which drew a defensive reply from the White House.
The Kremlin expressed dissatisfaction with the frequent mentions of Vladimir Putin during the U.S. presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, urging candidates to refrain from using the Russian leader as a tool in their political battles.
Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for President Putin, addressed the issue a week after Putin teasingly favored Harris over Trump, prompting the White House to criticize the Russian leader's involvement in the upcoming election.
Peskov highlighted that the Kremlin had not followed the debate live but had reviewed its coverage, noting both candidates' mentions of Putin. He stressed the consistent negative sentiment towards Russia by U.S. politicians, regardless of their political affiliation.
